PRESIDENT'S REPORT - Elaine Bernstein (474-5984/814-0286 or elaine.bernstein@earthlink.net)

How wonderful to see the bright green shamrocks above – heralding our moving towards Spring. YAY!! Well, let's hope Mother Nature gets the memo on that, since I am sitting here typing this in the midst of what is hopefully our last major snowstorm.

With the approach of Spring comes the homestretch of our Welcome Club year. Where has the time gone? To paraphrase a quote I saw about parenting: "Some days have been long, but my year has been short." On certain days, the task of being Welcome Club President has seemed monumental, and yet, my term is flying by in the blink of an eye.

And so, it is time to start lining up our Club's leadership for next year. Please let me know if you are interested in taking a Board position for next year. Also, I would like to remind our Special Interest Group leaders that they are responsible for lining up a replacement to take over their positions, should they decide not to serve next year.

Happy March, everyone! Hope to see you all soon!

2nd VICE PRESIDENT Membership Kim Carpenter (474-9020 or kimwc@yahoo.com)

Spring is a good time to reach out to your friends and neighbors...bring them to the next meeting and they will get a welcome gift! You'll get a gift as well...for each guest you bring! The member who brings the most guests will also get a special gift!

Here's another incentive to reach out to your neighbors: over the next two months, just stop by and visit someone new that moved into your neighborhood, take them a copy of the current newsletter, and let me know about it. Your name will be put into a drawing to receive two movie tickets WITH BABYSITTING PROVIDED! If the winner doesn't need babysitting, they will receive four movie tickets!
